CAR PARK J (Dixies)

Open from 18.00 on Friday 12 November

The viewing areas will be signposted from the car park:

V4 Park as far into the car park as possible. Take the marked path to the left and watch as the cars turn sharp right out of Halfway forest.

V5 This is an extension to V4 and offers exceptional views of typical forestry roads with fast sweeping bends.

V6 A viewing area extended for almost 3km starting with the famous Dixies crossing, a jump across a tarmac road and continuing through a series of jumps all easily visible across the open moor.

Also available from this location is access to open viewing points to watch the new tarmac section, including a fast approach to a very tight hairpin, which forms part of the Four Ways Crychan stage. Standing up on the natural banks it is also possible to watch the cars as they pass through V4 and V6 from the same position, making this one of the most exciting locations to spend the day on the event and remove the need to move to any others stages.

V7 Take the parking area on the right before reaching Dixies. You will arrive at a viewing area with a tight hairpin junction. You will also be able to see the cars across the valley for well over 3km before reaching the hairpin.

V8 (On the Car Park I map) involves a walk of about 800m along a footpath from the left side of the car park but it is well worthwhile when you get there. The cars are visible for almost 1km passing over a cattle grid and sweeping bends. You can also see cars across the valley shortly after the stage start.

There will be very limited disabled parking, access and toilets at car park J. All spaces are allocated on first come, first served basis. All disabled persons wishing to gain access will need to display their official disabled blue badge in the car.

From all directions:

Approach on the A40 from either Llandovery (12 miles) or Brecon (10 miles). Turn off the A40 in Llywel opposite the disused motel and proceed for a further 1.5 km onto the Military Range as directed.

Note: a temporary clearway order will be imposed on the A40 from Trecastle to Halfway village and vehicles parked on the road will be towed away. Do not however attempt to move north to the Crychan or Radnor stages. The one way system operating in this area will mean there is no right turn off the A483 at Cynghordy. This junction is traffic light and police controlled.
