| "All the news, all the time" is the new message from Wales Rally FM, broadcasting on 87.7 FM which promises listeners even more informed comment and innovation during December's Wales Rally GB (4th to 7th). | |||||
| The service will go on air 24 hours a day from 07.30 on Thursday 4th December, with news from Shakedown and the Swansea Service Park, concluding at around 18.00 hours on Sunday 7th with a round-up of Wales Rally GB results and the final placings in the FIA World Rally Championship.
Reporting live from Rally HQ in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium will be Sky News presenter Jon Desborough and Matt Burt, Editor of Motorsport News, Britain's only weekly Motorsport newspaper. Jon, former presenter of Channel 4's WRC programme and Matt will interact with the Wales Rally FM reporters at the end of special stages and in the Service Areas to give listeners the most comprehensive account of all the latest rally news. Temporary transmitters will bring Wales Rally FM to all the main designated spectator areas in the special stages, to Cardiff and Swansea and also to the M4 corridor in between the two cities. Innovation comes in the form of Podcasts, which can be downloaded free from the WRGB website; www.walesrallygb.com. Rally leader boards and news will also be broadcast in the Welsh language, starting early evening on Friday 5th. Popular features of Wales Rally FM which make a welcome return are the email service for rally followers to contact the studio (studio@RallyFM.com), twice hourly traffic reports, on-air competitions and the informative "where to watch" guide by a leading co-driver. News Update; Welshman Tom Cave, who celebrated his 17th birthday on 16th November, passed his Theory Driving Test on Monday 17th and subject to passing the practical test on 25th November, is all set to become the youngest-ever Rally GB competitor.
