Pop fivesome The Saturdays will wow crowds with a live performance at this year's Wales Rally GB, when the event returns to the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 6 December. The girl group, who have today launched their second single 'Up', will be headliners at the spectacular fire and ice-themed show as part of their nationwide tour.
Wales Rally GB, the UK and final round of the World Rally Championship (4-7 December), is one of the world's leading motorsport events, attracting over 140,000 including fans from across the globe. The Saturdays are the icing on the cake of the event's hour-long entertainment package prior to the special stage of the rally at the Millennium Stadium. The line-up includes world record holding stunt driver Terry Grant, the UK's number one freestyle motorcross rider Jamie Squibb and the Fuel Girls, a sassy collective of stunt artists and dancers.

Organisers have pulled out all the stops to make sure the Millennium Stadium stage of the event provides the ultimate spectator experience when it undergoes the spectacular transformation from renowned international sports arena into a rally stage, for one night only. Here fans will be able to watch drivers complete timed laps of the stadium, in competition with each other for vital points. The special stage broke records in 2005 when it became the first indoor rally stage, bringing all the action of the World Rally Championship under one roof in the centre of the Welsh capital, Cardiff.

The Saturdays are made up of five feisty, attractive girls whose catchy lyrics and energetic dance moves are guaranteed to entertain the crowds and get everyone up on their feet. The young starlets have taken the UK singles chart by storm with their first single, 'If this is love', which debuted at number eight and their success is set to grow rapidly.

"It is fantastic that The Saturdays have added Wales Rally GB to their UK tour dates and that they will be entertaining our fans in the Millennium Stadium," said Andrew Coe, chief executive of Wales Rally GB. "The special stage on the Saturday of the rally promises to have something on offer for everyone and will exceed anything fans have seen before."

Tickets for Wales Rally GB's Millennium Stadium stage start at just £1 for a child with the Kids for a quid ticket offer and £13 for an adult (terms and conditions apply).

Cardiff first hosted the rally in 2000 and the Welsh Assembly Government has been the main sponsor of the event since 2003. The City and County of Swansea has provided the Service Park since 2001.

WRGB is the finale of the Tesco 99 Octane British Rally Championship (rounds six and seven) and the eighth and final round of the FIA Production World Rally Championship.

Wales Rally GB is held annually and is the UK's biggest motor sport event. It is organised and promoted by International Motor Sports Ltd (IMS), the commercial arm of the Berkshire-based Motor Sports Association (MSA), the governing body for all UK motor sport.
