  • Early entries - from 23 countries - show 10% increase compared with 2006
  • 30 of the 40 places guaranteed for Amateur drivers now filled
  • 19 Production World Rally Championship contenders confirmed
  • British Rally Championship goes down to the wire on WRGB; six drivers in contention

So far, 23 nationalities are represented, including drivers from Barbados, New Zealand and the USA.

Of the 40 places guaranteed to amateur drivers, 30 have now been filled. Amongst them is Phillip Morrow (Lisburn, Co. Antrim) winner of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge. His prize is a "works" drive with the Mitsubishi team in the 2008 Tesco 99 Octane British Rally Championship.

Wales Rally GB is the eighth and final round of the Production World Rally Championship and 19 of the 24 registered contenders have nominated the event as one of their six scoring rounds. Manx-born Mark Higgins (Carno, Powys) is currently in second place. For more P-WRC information visit http://www.wrc.com/
