Toyota in the UK have two manufacturing sites. At Burnaston in Derbyshire we employ around 3,500 people making the Auris and Avensis range of vehicles. At Deeside in north Wales we employ around 550 people making petrol engines for use in vehicles made in Derbyshire as well as exporting to Toyota Plants overseas.
One of our goals is to support the communities in which our plants are located and in which our members live, we do this in a number of ways. Wales Rally GB has become a cornerstone of our engagement activity. Through the Big-Bang event on the Service Park we will reach out to 1500 students, showcasing the exciting opportunities a career in engineering can provide. We further support the community by providing the venue for the Service Park and Rally Headquarters enabling this world class event to have its main base close to the major population centres across north east Wales and north west England.
