The destination of the British Rally Championship still hangs in the balance - but Guy Wilks (Mitsubishi Lancer) is the overwhelming favourite for the title.

At the midway point of Saturday Wilks is the only championship contender running. However, he has suffered clutch and turbo problems and now sits in fourth place in the Production category and second in the BRC points.

Rival Mark Higgins (Subaru Impreza) rolled on the opening stage of Saturday and is out of the event for today. However, he has reported his car is fixable and he hopes to rejoin under SupeRally regulations tomorrow.
If he manages that then Higgins still has a mathematical chance of winning the BRC crown. However, he would have to finish high up the order and beat Wilks.

The third title challenger, David Higgins (Subaru Impreza), is now out of BRC title contention. He rolled this morning, and could be beaten for second in the championship if Mark Higgins finishes tomorrow’s action.
In other BRC news, Brian O’Mahony (Renault Clio) has been confirmed as the MSA British Junior Rally Champion , while Jason Pritchard has been crowned Citroen C2-R2 Cup champion.

Sebastien Loeb has won Rallye Monte-Carlo for a sixth time following a dominant performance behind the wheel of the Citroen DS3 WRC he shares with Monegasque co-driver Daniel Elena.

Of the 74 starters who began Wales Rally GB in Llandudno on Thursday 10th November, 40 were classified at the end of the four-day,1860 kms rally which featured 23 timed special stages as it wound its way from the North coast to the ceremonial finish in Cardiff.

As this year's Wales Rally GB - the final and deciding round of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship - draws to a close, Business Minister, Edwina Hart has announced a funding package of £1.4 million for the 2012 event.
