Day: 3 Flash: 18 Special Stage: 17 Port Talbot 1 Distance:20.09 Km
Weather: Cold
Road Conditions: Slippy and icy

Comment from zero car
“Very very good. There are patches of ice and you have to be attentive, but it is generally excellent and a superbly laid out stage.”

4: Jari-Matti Latvala/Miika Anttila
“It is looking interesting now. I lost a little time at the start but my confidence increased at the end. The second run will be the hardest part as the surface will be more polished. There is more grip this morning, strangely enough.”

1: Sebastien Loeb/Daniel Elena
“Really good fight, but I try really hard. Always I start faster but Jari-Matti catches me up towards the end. A very good fight. I am following him line for line – so if he goes into a ditch then I go into a ditch!”

2: Dani Sordo/Marc Marti
“Some difficult places there but very nice to see the times of Latvala and Sebastien. I am very happy with my time though and I will try to keep the concentration and finish the rally. I must try and keep ahead of Petter!”

5: Petter Solberg/Philip Mills
“I just have to settle for fourth. Far too much ice and we lose a lot of time yesterday. It is impossible to push. I tried some tricks on this stage but it didn’t work and I lost even more - so I just try and keep this position.”
Phil Mills: “We are just taking it easy. The stage is totally frozen solid from start to finish.”

12: Per-Gunnar Andersson/Jonas Andersson
“We try to keep the fifth place. I took some seconds off Henning on the last stage and I just try and keep the car on the road. We have taken the rear anti-roll bar out to make the car suspension as soft as possible, just to get maximum grip.”

14: Henning Solberg/Cato Menkarud
“It is tough but you just have to take the chances. It is very difficult I promise you!”

7: Francois Duval/Denis Giraudet
“Not too bad that one. Bit dangerous in places but not too bad.”

11: Toni Gardemeister/Tomi Tuominen
“Actually there was quite a lot of grip on that stage but that grip comes and goes depending upon where you are. I am quite happy right now

3: Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen
“Yesterday I was catching Toni quite a bit and I thought I could get into the points but it is very slippy this morning so we just have to see what we can do. I would be stupid to roll the car again.”

8: Matthew Wilson/Scott Martin
“So difficult in there – I am learning all the time trying to anticipate where the slippy areas are and where the grip is. Not really happy with my time, though.”

20: Barry Clark/Paul Nagle
“It is really icy and we are trying to find the grip. We slid wide on a long left hand bend and we hit the co-driver’s side  but I don’t think it is too bad. We are just trying to get the car home for Mr. Wilson now!”

17: Sebastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia
“Difficult this morning and the tyres don’t have a lot of grip. I just need to finish the rally now so we take it more slowly.”

46: Valentino Rossi/Carlo Cassina
“It is a good stage and it looks like we are a bit faster today. We enjoy and the conditions are not too bad. It is a long time from my last rally in New Zealand (in 2006) to now, but day by day and stage by stage my feeling improves so we are happy.”

19: Khalid Al Qassimi/Michael Orr
“Really horrible in the previous stage but this one is a little better but still I have to drive with caution. There is an icy polish on the road and it is easy to go off with the smallest mistake.”

16: Conrad Rautenbach/David Senior
“This morning all I wanted to do was just trying to get a nice feeling with the car but it’s not nice. I think I am too African because it is too cold here!”

23: Steve Perez/Paul Spooner
“We have low oil pressure at the moment and I probably spent too much time looking at the gauge. I am going to go to service and have a look. It might be just a filter so we will have a look.”

24: Dave Weston Jr/Aled Davies
“We lost some time in the last stage after shooting off on the ice. The spectators pushed us back on but I think we are five seconds down now.”

44: Patrik Flodin/Goran Bergsten
“We were braking too late in a junction and stalled the engine reversing out. We have to fight again now.”

21: Eamonn Boland/Damien Morrissey
“We are doing SupeRally so are just cruising to the finish. So slippy out there and not like this in Ireland. I am a tarmac specialist!”

55: Patrik Sandell/Emil Axelsson
“We were going totally flat out in that stage. I thought this is my chance. This is so good to catch up with Flodin – I am really happy. It is a big fight between his home town (Flodin’s) and mine because we live so close together!”

41: Andreas Aigner/Klaus Wicha
“The stage was quite slippy but we have to think about Guy Wilks who is behind us.”

146: Jari Ketomaa/Miika Teiskonen
“Not so much enjoying now. The car is not handling well and we still have engine problems.”

59: David Higgins/Ieuan Thomas
“Pretty scary yesterday after being winched out of the ravine and it was real shame but we are just driving round now trying to get team points for the British Championship.”

60: Guy Wilks/Phil Pugh
“Still very tricky and I am still being cautious. I am pushing enough to keep up a steady rhythm. We still need to get points for Mitsubishu.”

42: Bernardo Sousa/Jorge Carvalho
“It was so scary in there as we saw a lamb in the road which we hit unfortunately.”

49: Simone Campedelli/Danilo Fappani
“This is the first time we finish the second special stage of the day! It is a dream! We have to learn these and and I am happy with that drive.”

37: Spyros Pavlides/Steve Lancaster
“The first stage was very tough but this one was very nice. One of the few stages we enjoyed this weekend. It has been an adventure and I have learned a lot.”

61: Gwyndaf Evans/Gareth Roberts
“This is the test of the highest calibre I can tell you. What a challenge for man and machine and the whole team.”

50: Armindo Araujo/Miguel Ramalho
“There is nothing much to fight for now so we are taking it steady.”

72: Ryan Champion/Anders Howard
“We had a half spin and then stalled which was frustrating. We still, have a few issues with the engine so we just try and get to the end.”

47: Jaromir Tarabus/Daniel Trunket
“We had a big problem on the jump because the car nose-dived and landed heavily.”

67: Hermann Gassner Junior/Katherina Wuestenhagen
“This stage was better than the last – it is still slippery but very fast. Doing 160kph in a forest can be a bit scary and it is pretty narrow in places too.”

70: Marco Tempestini/Dorin Pulpea
“It is a beautiful stage and the car is fine. I am enjoying it because it is Rally GB but I don’t think anyone is enjoying the conditions.”

62: Mattias Therman/Janne Perala
“Yesterday I was struggling and again early this morning. This stage was better and avery decent run.”

76: Jason Pritchard/George Gwynn
“I am just trying to get to the finish because there is no SupeRally today. This stage was more grippy than the last one.

94: Thomas Cave/Gemma Price
“It is still going well – in fact it is going too well. I had one moment over the jump but I couldn’t have imagined when I started, when my main objective was just to finish, that I would be leading my class by ten minutes and 31st fastest overall at this stage. I am very happy and thoroughly enjoying it.”

68: Hugh Evans/Iestyn Williams
“It has been exciting but a bit hair-raising. I am aiming now for a finish. The team Championship is open for debate again so it is important that myself and David Higgins have to finish.”

69: Daniel Unger/Sebastian Itu
“I am managing to keep it on the track but you have to concentrate a lot.”

81: Emre Yurdakul/Can Erkal
“We were quite cautious in there. But no problems to speak of.”

87: Tony Jardine/David Smith
“That was mega. I had a bit of a moment on the jump and we landed too heavily for the old girl, but she seems fine and I just want to get to the end in one piece.”

80: Steven Holder/Steve McPhee
“Lets just call it quits and come back and do it properly again next year!”

95: Neville Jones/Ian Capewell
“There was more grip in there than in Rheola. We went off twice in that last stage. I really enjoyed it but it was really hard work.”

83: Luca Griotti/Corrado Bonato
“Hurray! Finally the car is fantastic this morning.”

75: Peter Stephenson/Kim Baker
“That was by far the best stage of the rally. It was great fun and we are just going to cut the revs from now on to preserve the car and reach the end.”

85: Nathan O'Connor/Jessica Rogan
“Rheola was hard this morning but this was much better. We changed the gearbox sensor overnight and the thing is much better this morning. We just need to get to the end now.”

91: David Matthews/Ian Harraway
“We saw 100 on the speedo in there and I decided not to look again. It takes a long time to stop this thing. It’s an old Rover and I am more used to a nimble 1400.”

84: Burcu Cetinkaya/Cicek Gumey
“Very hard in there this morning, especially the first stage. But I am hoping to finish another World Championship rally.”

89: Gordon Nichol/Emma Morrison
“We caught car 85 (Nathan O'Connor/Jessica Rogan) at the end of the stage but didn’t have to slow down too much. We are pleased to be catching cars in front. We had a big moment in the first stage this morning when we went wide and scattered marshals everywhere. And then in this stage we nose dived after the jump and all I could see filling my screen was road.”

98: Darren Jones/Paul Burley
“It tends to be tailing happy out of the jump, like it was last year. The suspension was knackered before the rally and it certainly is now. We were really airborne in there!”

79: Andrew Hockridge/Rich Mills
“Going good now – nice and fast and flowing. We are heading for a finish now but didn’t think we would be after going into a ditch yesterday in Crychan.”

88: Deividas Jocius/Mindaugus Varza
“On every stage we are catching Fiestas in front of us. We caught one in this stage and two on the one before and it is destroying my rhythm.”
