Forget costly pantomimes and expensive Christmas treats, Wales Rally GB's Millennium Stadium special stage on 6 December will provide the ultimate, action-packed entertainment this festive period - and kids can go from just £1*. With two world champions, high-speed action, a chart-topping girl band, stunts, acrobatics and pyrotechnics - all under one roof this family-friendly event has something on offer for everyone.
For 2008 organisers have worked to give fans tickets at prices never seen before. Children can go to the Millennium Stadium stage for the same price as a packet of sweets or bottle of pop, as tickets start from a credit-crunch-beating £1* and include a free set of bang sticks. This makes the event an affordable option for families, particularly considering they can see two of this year’s world champions - the recently crowned FIA World Rally Champion, Sébastien Loeb and six-times MotoGP Champion, Valentino Rossi.

The theme this year is Fire and Ice and the extravaganza will be headlined by girl group The Saturdays, whose first two singles, ‘If this is love’ and ‘Up’ reached the top ten of the charts. The five girls have added Wales Rally GB to their nationwide tour and their catchy lyrics and energetic dance moves promise to get everyone up on their feet.

This year, with help from Valentino Rossi, Wales Rally GB is supporting BBC Children in Need. Fans can look out for Pudsey on Rossi’s car and keep an eye out for a guest appearance by the bear himself. Volunteers will be collecting donations from spectators who wish to show their support for the charity.

“The Millennium Stadium stage of this year’s Wales Rally GB is packed full of entertainment and rally action - there really is something for everyone in the family to enjoy,” explained Andrew Coe, chief executive of Wales Rally GB. “I am very proud that at our event a family of four can attend from just £28 and see two world champions competing in the stadium as well as a girl group at the top of charts.”

Also included in the programme is:

• 11 times world record holding stunt driver, Terry Grant, who will wow crowds with his daredevil manoeuvres

• The UK’s number one freestyle motorcross rider Jamie Squibb will display his airborne motorcycle aerobatics

• Sassy dancers and stunt artists, the Fuel Girls, will perform their fire-breathing show

• Two acrobats will perform live, suspended from heliospheres above the stadium floor

• All 86 entrants will battle it out on the stadium floor for crucial championship points

• All accompanied by an amazing display of pyrotechnics and even a flurry of snow

Wales Rally GB is the British and final round of the 15-round FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). It is one of only four events that have retained their unbroken World Championship status since the WRC was established in 1973.

Cardiff first hosted the rally in 2000 and the Welsh Assembly Government has been the main sponsor of the event since 2003. The City and County of Swansea has provided the Service Park since 2001.

WRGB is the finale of the Tesco 99 Octane British Rally Championship (rounds six and seven) and the eighth and final round of the FIA Production World Rally Championship.

Wales Rally GB is held annually and is the UK’s biggest motor sport event. It is organised and promoted by International Motor Sports Ltd (IMS), the commercial arm of the Berkshire-based Motor Sports Association (MSA), the governing body for all UK motor sport.

For 2008 Wales Rally GB has become the first round of the World Rally Championship to offset all its carbon emissions, including all spectator travel. The event has been awarded CarbonNeutral® event status, confirming that the event’s carbon footprint is now ‘net zero’.
